The rock stands at 2,618 feet above sea level and is considered a landmark that has inspired painters, poets, and photographers from times age-old. It was given its name during the time when Ceylon was under British Imperialism, the ‘Bible’ aspect derives from the flat-topped surface of the rock, giving it the resemblance of a lectern.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe 360-degree view from atop the rock is a photographer’s dream. The spectacular view of Asupini Ella, Kadugannawa Pass \u0026amp; Ura Kande, and the surrounding mountains and forests are simply put, breathtaking. On top of being one of the most scenic mountain tops, the biodiversity around Bible Rock ensures that hikers and bird lovers especially get to spot bird species such as the Black Eagle and the Shaheen Falcon; a subspecies of the Peregrine Falcon that is considered the fastest animal in the World.
